The Election in Babylon

The Election in Babylon is set in a world where everything is up for a vote, both in small-scale decision making and the yearly formal Vote, where facts as fundamental as whether the wind blows or if cigarettes are healthy get decided.  The stories of four people interweave, each of them impacted by the Vote differently. One is slated to be married to a rich man she hates if enough people vote in favor, another desperate to be voted upon at all, a third guiding her clients through the spiritual dimensions of Democracy, and a fourth living in disgrace, far from his peak as a rockstar pollster. All of their lives, and everyone else's, are due to change as soon as the votes are cast.
